Social Media Tips

Start a Facebook Fan Page and connect it to your other social media.

Create a cool background on your fanpage!
Add an event page to your page to start inviting your network.
Connect your page to Twitter,  Instagram, Tumblr, Pinterest, Website, etc.

Announce and add the FirstGlance Laurels to an image and post it on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Tag Us!

Twitter allows you to TAG up to ten accounts when uploading a photo to your tweet

If you have a website or blog, include all our information and the ticket link on your pages and send out a weekly reminder email to your list.

Our festival is audience voted and that helps us determine the audience favorite in each category and the Best of Fest Winner, so make sure to invite your Los Angeles area friends, family, cast, crew and fanbase!


We are glad to assist in the promotion of your film, you can start promoting through our trailer network immediately!
If you have a trailer for your film, Upload it and we’ll add it to our YT page!
Our youtube channel has almost 800K views!

Use wetransfer, Dropbox (links only) and vimeo downloadable and send us your Hi-res trailer

Video Resolution at least 640×360 or larger.

Important: When sending us your trailer, you must first verify with your editor that your trailer does not have any copyrighted images or music you don’t have the rights to use online. If a trailer has licensed music, you must send us the license information and who you licensed it from, so we can make sure your trailer and our Youtube Channel is not flagged with a copyright strike from a copyright holder.

Promoting your film

We have a limited number of slide and on-screen opportunities to promote your film.

You can buy a slide for as little as $200.00 and you can promote your film from our homepage, with a full color slide image and link to your festival homepage.

Upgrade to $300.00 and add your slide to the pre-screening opening slide show, which plays before every screening multiple times!

Email us and let us know you want a slide and we’ll hold a reservation.

Physical Program Information

On the FirstGlance website
Film Title (Director, Runtime, State or Country) Include a short 25 word or so synopsis. Starring Actor 1, Actor 2, Actor 3…
(Premiere Status: Choose one- World Premiere, US Premiere, Los Angeles Premiere)
Include at least one picture jpeg preferred in 300dpi resolution RGB at least 300h x300w

If you want your project QC’ed prior to the festival we need the screener no later than APRIL 1st!
Accepted Formats:
DCP, DVD, BluRay
We do not accept movie files, the venue will not upload or download files.
 UPS, FEDEX and other courier services do not deliver to PO BOXES
We suggest you use the United States Postal Service with tracking.
Email us the tracking number and be sure to follow up and track your delivery from your end!
If you are unable to provide a DVD or Bluray, we do have a service that will allow us to burn a DVD only!
If you must…send us a 1080p compressed .mov or .mp4 file (via dropbox, hightail or other large file delivery service) No watermark, no menus, nothing additional!
The cost for shorts is $30.00 and for features $50.00
We must receive payment via PAYPAL so we can pay the fee first to our burning facility.

(Disclaimer: If you choose to have a DVD burn and you send materials after the screener deadline date, we cannot guarantee DVDs will be Quality Tested at the venue and are not responsible for any technical issues)

DCP Hard Drive Formatting (If Available)

If sending a DCP, you must send a backup DVD or BluRay as not all DCP’s are compatible with all systems.

  • Please note the hard drive that will hold the DCP must be formatted for Linux EXT2, or Linux EXT3 to work properly with the servers.
  • Your content must be PC compatible as our projectors will not read MAC files.
  • The content needs to be an un-encrypted wrapped DCP file. (It can be encrypted as long as we have keys)
  • Please make sure your film arrives at the theatre at least 72 hours prior to your event so our projectionist have time to ingest, test and play back your film prior to your screening

(Exhibition screeners, DCP’s will not be returned without proper return postage mailer)

Filmmaker Tickets

All Official Selections receive 1 All Access Filmmaker Pass

Each Feature Length Selection receives 2 Additional Screening Only TICKETS for the program their film is screening in.

Each Short Selection receives 1 Additional Screening Only TICKET for the program their film is screening in.

Complimentary Filmmaker Passes/Tickets will be AVAILABLE at the venue.
