Mela Hudson Award

The Mela Hudson Award

We are creating a special award to memorialize a FirstGlance Film Festival Alum that departed too soon.

Beginning in 2020 with our 20th FirstGlance Los Angeles Film Festival, we will begin awarding the Mela Hudson Filmmaker Award of Excellence, to one film directed by a women or with a strong female lead that deals with mental health issues, female empowerment or women overcoming the odds at each festival.

Mela was a multi year, returning FirstGlance Alum with a bright future in the indie film industry and she will be missed.
