One of the things that sets FirstGlance apart from most other film festivals in the world is that we work very hard on getting filmmakers the visibility and exposure they deserve and we also use all of our resources to find revenue sharing opportunities for filmmakers to make money from their short or feature. In the past few years our festival has had an 80% track record with features we have shown at our events going on to theatrical, retail or online distribution, a record we are very proud of and hope to raise in the future.

We currently have plans in 2009 to release a technology that will enable us to become the first festival to offer revenue share distribution through our website, allowing short filmmakers the opportunity to sell their short by download to own to the millions of hungry content buyers on the internet.

The technology will allow buyers to either buy your short film singularly, or create their own compilation DVD with multiple titles of their choosing, each time your download is purchased you make money.

We currently have over 25 titles for sale through one of our partners, Indiepix, and soon will have our own distribution downstream that will enable us to offer many more shorts the online download opportunity while keeping your rights and the option to sell your short online…

FirstGlance is currently offering all short film alumni from our festivals the opportunity to be included in our online download store, as well as any new Official Selections.

In 2009, we plan on having the first onsite store that will allow our filmmakers to upload and sell their short DOWNLOAD 2 DVD, without any third party distribution company, allowing for a quick turnaround from upload to offer. It will as always be a revenue share, non exclusive, contract for FirstGlance Official Selections.

Filmmakers will be able to sell through our distribution as well as create their own sale buttons and banners to place on their on sites, social communities, etc.

We think this is a humongous step for all film festivals, as FirstGlance plans on offering this WHITE LABEL technology to other festivals around the world.
